The Annual General Meeting of The Entrance Long Jetty RSL sub Branch will be held at:

On Saturday 1st February 2020, the General Meeting will start at 10.00am.
The AGM will follow the conclusion of the General Meeting.
All positions will be declared vacant. 
Nominations openon Monday 13thJanuary 2020 at 9.00am and will close on January Friday 24th2020 at 11.00am
Nomination forms are available from the sub Branch Office and are to be returned by the closing date.
The positions are for a period of 3 years.

On Saturday 7th December 2019, CPO ( RTD) Colin Wild was presented an award for outstanding long service of 42 yrs to the Australian Naval reserves. Commander Jose Bascunan accompanied by his Wife Sue travelled from Canberra to present his award. Col's ex Officer Commanding Leut Clark along with his wife Jane travelled from Cairns.
Mr Bill Thompson represented the Federal Member Emma McBride MP
Three other Leading Seamen also received awards
Leut Clark was also surprised by the Commander with an award for outstanding service.

EVENT: ANZAC DAY – 25 APRIL 2020
This letter serves as a notification for scheduled full road closures within The Entrance to coincide with the Anzac Day Commemorative Services.
As part of the Australian Federal Government Strategy for Protecting Crowded Places, Tuggerah Lakes Local District Police has advised that there may be delays in accessing your premise through this period. It’s advised if your vehicle movement isn’t necessary to find alternative options – including business deliveries. Movement of resident vehicles in and out will be at the discretion of the Chief Inspector, Tuggerah Lakes District Police. The objective of the road closure is to protect the lives of people working in, using, and visiting crowded places by making these places a safe environment for all.
The temporary road closures of The Entrance will take place on;

Saturday 25 April 2020
Dawn Service
Road closure start time: from 05:00am.
Event type: Anzac Day Dawn Service.
Location: Memorial Park, Marine Parade, The Entrance.
The Dawn Service will be held at the Cenotaph in Memorial Park.
The road closures will be located at:
• The intersection of Coral St and The Central Coast Hwy.
• Marine Parade at the foreshore car park.
• The intersection of the Entrance Hwy and Victoria Ave.
Main Service
Road closure start time: from 10:45am.
Event type: Anzac Day Main Service.
Location: Memorial Park, Marine Parade, The Entrance.
The road closures will be located at:
• The Entrance Road from Denning St and Marine Pde will be under full road closure.
• The march will start from Denning St car park head west towards The Entrance Rd.
• The march will continue north past Fairview Ave, Ocean Parade and Victoria Ave, all of these streets will be under a sterile road closure.
• Marine parade and Coral St will be under a sterile closure.
On the day listed above, the roads will be affected with increased vehicle and pedestrian movements in surrounding streets. During this period we ask that you please follow the traffic signage and take care of others on the road. Pedestrian access will still be permitted throughout this period.

ANZAC Day

Dawn Service

The Entrance Long Jetty RSL sub Branch will be conducting its Dawn Service at Memorial Park, The Entrance at 5.30am.

Our 20 seater bus will be departing diggers@ the entrance at 4.50 am sharp to transport those intending to attend the service.


Breakfast

Vouchers will be available for the breakfast at diggers@ the entrance on the day to those who attend the Dawn Service (please note that limited tickets are available). Entry to the club is not permitted if you do not have a ticket. Breakfast is between 6am - 9am.


Main Service




March steps off at 11.30 am from Short Street The Entrance and continues to Memorial Park, The Entrance where the Service will commence at 11.45 am – 12.30 pm. Our 20 seater bus will depart diggers @ the entrance 10.50 am sharp.


Descendants of Veterans


To maintain the integrity of ANZAC DAY, it is a requirement of this sub Branch that only the direct descendants of veterans participate in the march. To partake in the march, descendants must be wearing their relative’s original/copied service medals on the right hand side. These participants are asked to be at Short Street, The Entrance by 11.10am sharp.




As march guidelines were altered, school children, guides, etc are requested to assemble at Memorial Park at 11am and will be directed to the march from there.

RIP
Tom Picot OAM passed away on Sunday 7th May at the age of 101.He was a great supporter of the RSL and Veterans.  His Funeral will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church at The Entrance on Monday 15th May at 10.00am.  After the service a private burial will be held at Palmdale Cemetery. The wake will be held at diggers @the entrance approx 1.pm
